Late Night Escapades

Got an all nighter tonight with the church youth group so I will have to get the inked and final draft of Battle With the Giant up on tomorrow for the masses of people not looking at my blog... hahahaha, build it and they will come oh wow... so yeah expect it tomorrow. I will be working on it tonight but it will be clean and fancy tomorrow. I went out to the UofO bookstore's art section and bought a few drawing tools, a .1 inking pen, a .5 inking pen, a .3 mechanical pencil, and lead all for $12 something. A bit spendy but I will get quite a use from them. Have a great night folks!

Battle With the Giant

This is a sketch of a drawing I have been pondering for a while. A few weeks ago I wrote a small excerpt about a battle between Elias and a giant from the northern mountains. It was short but still pretty clean and clear. It could definitely use some embelishing and elaborating but it was simply a reminder of a scene I want to have in my book. That lead to other questions like, did the giant survive? Does he then become a nemisis for Elias? Or is he simply killed? Why are they fighting? Does he have anything valuable Elias finds after he kills him? Also I wasnted to convey the simple awesomeness of Elias. He is 1/3 the size of this brute but with his speed and Caligas strength he makes short work of the giant. Elias is so stinking hardcore! Oh well, expect a more polished drawing posted soon.

Elias Sketch

This is a drawing I have as a rough character design for a character in my book Instinct. His name is Elias and he is a Caligas, a pointed eared cinnimon skinned, and beautiful eyed race. They have a sixth sense that can communicate with them called the instinct and they can cas a gloom that is a dark shadow or gloom that can do multiple things depending on the command. They also may enter a state of mind where their instinct takes over and they are out of control. Now depending on their personality and the effect that has on their instinct it varies what their instinct will do. There's a bit about Elias.
